Traces of what happened, or will have happened, deliberately or absent-mindedly left exposed. What is there, was poured, destroyed, stepped on, changed, or disappeared. Even the place where they were found may have disappeared, not the precise place of GPS coordinates but the site, which was also its surrounding plus the photographer and his circumstance and his relentless power of choice. But the image can also lie.
